“Sublime Corpus” opens this Saturday 22nd August with a celebration event 2-5pm.
Sublime Corpus invites artists to once again explore the idea of the body, any body, as a site of the sublime. Here, the “corpus” is not limited to the human figure alone but expands to any physical form that evokes wonder, reverence, or unease. From flesh and bone to celestial, synthetic forms designed by the artist, or insect, the exhibition asks: What bodies captivate you? Where do you find the sublime in the physical?
This show displayss works that dwell in the tension between the material and the immaterial - where physical forms become portals to something vast, beautiful, terrifying, or beyond easy explanation.
