WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Fitzroy Public Gallery is expanding with a whole new space at 60 Johnston St, Fitzroy. Smack bang in between Old Bar and Shady Lady, opposite the Spanish Club. We plan on opening 23rd October with Muse Familiar. We're not moving from Smith Street but we will now encompass two sites: FPG Smith and FPG Johnston.
This will be our premier space with big street frontage and ground floor access. This will be a higher service space with more staff and opening 3-4 days a week. This is where we have our big group shows as well as high profile solo exhibitions and curated group shows. It will become our main base and contact point.
Exhibition submissions for FPG Johnston are open now and we have openings for this year and next from the 23rd of October.

Our original space will continue with artist-run shows and more community events and workshops. This is the perfect spot for emerging artists and experimental work as well as curated group shows or anyone who wants to have the freedom of running their own show. Our hire fees are very low and it's a great space for showcasing your art.

Photographer, comedian and storyteller. This is a show that brings all of that together.
Nick Robertson is sharing his evocative and nostalgic photo collection in a show that is both personal and universal.
@nickmickpics will also be preforming their solo show at Melbourne fringe after a 3 year hiatus. In that time they've been nominated for best comedy at Dunedin fringe and have won a weekly award at Adelaide fringe for best emerging artist.
Running until Sunday 18th October, 5:00pm at FPG Smith.

Painting Emotion, Healing and the Power of the Human Figure
At the centre of Chaya's artistic practice is a fascination with people and the emotions that can exist within a single expression. Working primarily in oils and occasionally acrylics, she creates figurative paintings that favour emotional honesty over polished perfection. Faces, eyes, hands and elongated limbs become expressive elements through which inner states begin to surface. Features may be exaggerated and compositions can carry a deliberate sense of discomfort, yet that tension is part of their emotional power. Birds, flowers, children and animals also enter this visual world, while vivid colour often provides moments of brightness against darker emotional territory.
