Draft - Music is the shared experience we all grew up

with and the bands we loved often had a strong

visual identity that shaped the very path of

popular fashion. The haircuts, the clothes and of

course, the distinctive album packaging all made

a huge impression on us.

Many hours were well spent listening and holding

the covers, looking through gatefold interiors and

booklets inside which became the iconic

experiences that stick in our memories and hearts

and guided our own creativity.

Over time, music formats got smaller, covers

artworks shrank from plate-size to drink-coaster to

tiny icons on your phone, then cover images were

overwhelmed by complex video clips and

animation to accompany the sound, but a revival

in vinyl has turned this around.

This show seeks to celebrate the power of the big

square cardboard cover and the strong, static

images that came alive in our imaginations, as the

various artists in this show pay tribute by

reimagining them in a variety of unexpected and

personal styles.

Mediums included in the show range from

traditional drawing, painting, photography, digital

art, ceramics, leather craft, embroidery, clothing,

jewellery design, 3-D printing and many more.

(We are proud to declare that no Generative AI

was used in any of the works. This is a show by

humans, for humans.)
