The street lives large in our collective imagination. Beloved by artists of all types. The street is public space and yet the scene for so many private moments. The streets can be full of people or a stage for just one; filled with golden sunlight or dark and liminal.
A European lane full of flowers and flowing dresses or an Asian backstreet cluttered with scooters and hawkers, or a suburban nightmare of emptiness and conformity?
The street can be full of drama, bustling life, gritty ambience or quiet contemplation.
Street Scene runs from 29th August to 7th September.
