Following the huge success of this event last year we are revisiting the biggest little show.

Big ideas, small scale. The Fitzroy Fifty-Five is an open call for artists of all styles and disciplines, united by one simple rule

—every work must fit within 55 x 55 cm. Beyond that, anything goes.

This exhibition is a celebration of artistic impact, proving that bold statements, intricate details, and powerful emotions don’t require a vast canvas. Whether you work in painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, or something entirely unexpected, we invite you to push the limits of small-scale art and showcase how less can truly be more.

Emerging, mid-career, and established artists are all encouraged to submit. Set in the heart of Fitzroy, this show will be an electrifying collection of diverse voices and visions, each compact in size but expansive in imagination.

Mediums

We are seeking any art works such as painting, photography, drawing, sound, video or sculpture and all will be welcome.

Anyone can submit up to 10 pieces of artwork—each fitting within a max dimension of 55 by 55cm.

Every entry will be proudly displayed, making this a truly public celebration of art.

Key Dates & Details

Entries Close: Friday 10th July 2026, at midnight (11:59 PM).

Artwork Drop-off: Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July, 2026, between 11 AM and 5PM.

Opening Night: Friday, 17th July, from 6–9 PM.

Exhibition run: Friday 17th July 2026 – Sunday 26th July 2026

Art Pickup: Sunday 26th and Monday 27th July

Entry Fee: $35 per artwork or 3 for $90

Maximum entries: 10 per person
