TERMS AND CONDITIONS

● Entries Close: Friday 26 th September, 2025.

● Artwork Drop-off: Saturday 27 th September and Sunday 28th September, 2025,

between 11 AM and 4 PM.

● A completed Entry Form and payment of entry fees are required by Saturday, 27 th

September, 2025, at midnight (11:59 PM).

● Submissions are open to artists of all experience levels.

● All entries will be exhibited during the Street Scene Exhibition from 3rd October to

12th October, 2025.

● Fitzroy Public Gallery reserves the right to cancel entries or exclude works that

violate the Terms and Conditions.

OPENING CELEBRATION EVENT

● Opening Night: Friday, October 3rd, 2025, from 6–9 PM.

● Artists and the public are warmly invited to attend and enjoy a banquet of artworks on

display.

Restrictions:

● All artworks must measure 100cm or smaller on any side, including frames and

mounting.

● Artworks must comply with copyright and licensing laws. The artist guarantees their

work is original and does not violate third-party rights.

● The gallery reserves the right to decline any work deemed offensive, pornographic,

defamatory, or racist.

● AI-generated imagery is not permitted.

● Artworks created with hazardous materials or posing a risk to staff or patrons will not

be accepted.

● For collaborative works, artists must ensure contributors are credited appropriately

and in accordance with industry standards.

Entry and Fees:

● $35 per artwork .

● Artists may submit a maximum of 10 works.

● Entry fees are non-refundable.

Artwork Dropoff.

● All artworks must be personally delivered to:

Fitzroy Public Gallery, Level 2, 125 Smith St, Fitzroy

● Delivery Dates: Sunday 28th and Monday 29 th August, 2025, between 11 AM and 4

PM.

● If you cannot deliver your artwork on the specified days, you may nominate a proxy

to drop it off on your behalf. Email fitzroypublic@gmail.com to confirm.

● Artworks not delivered by these dates will be excluded from the exhibition, and entry

fees will not be refunded.

● Labels must be securely attached to or written on the back of each artwork.

● Each piece must be clearly labelled with the following information:

o Artist Name

o Artwork Title

● Packaging will not be stored at the gallery. Artists are responsible for bringing

suitable packaging to transport their works during collection.

MISSED DROP-OFF DATES

● Late entries will not be accepted, and exhibition fees are non-refundable.

ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS

● All artworks must measure 100cm or smaller on any side, including frames and

mounting.

● Artworks are measured by Height (H) x Width (W) x Depth (D).

● Accepted Mediums: Both 2D (e.g., paintings, drawings, photography) and 3D (e.g.,

sculptures displayed on plinths) artworks are welcome.

● Artists are responsible for ensuring their work complies with size restrictions.

Oversized artworks will be disqualified, and fees will not be refunded.

FRAMING REQUIREMENTS

● Paper works must be framed

● Framed works must include hanging mechanisms such as wires, d-rings, or sawtooth

hangers.

● Frames must meet the size restriction of 100cm on all sides.

MULTIPLE WORKS (DIPTYCHS/TRIPTYCHS)

● Diptychs or triptychs can be submitted as a single work if approved by the gallery and

if the combined size remains under 100cm.

● All components must share one title, one price, and will not be labelled or sold

separately.

"READY TO HANG" REQUIREMENTS

● Artworks must arrive at the gallery ready for immediate installation. This includes:

● Canvases with stretcher bars.

● Paper works that have been framed.

● Frames with secure hanging mechanisms (wires, d-rings, sawtooth hangers).

● Sculpture that can stand alone on a shelf or plinth without additional support.

UNACCEPTABLE WORKS

Artworks deemed not “ready to hang” will not be exhibited. This includes:

● Frames or hanging mechanisms unsuitable for the exhibition duration.

● Wet paintings on drop-off days.

● Unframed paper works.

● Artworks reliant on unsuitable adhesives (e.g., double-sided tape).

POWERED ARTWORKS

● Powered works will be accepted at the gallery’s discretion.

● The gallery is not responsible for maintaining batteries, LED bulbs, or other power

components.

● Artworks requiring power must use tested and tagged cords.

EXHIBITION DISPLAY

● Each piece will be displayed with a label including the artist’s name, artwork title, and

medium.

● The gallery has full discretion over curatorial decisions.

● While reasonable requests will be considered, specific curatorial requirements cannot

be guaranteed.

● Multiple artworks from the same artist may not be displayed together; placement will

be determined within the broader exhibition.

LABELLING REQUIREMENTS

● Each piece must be labelled with:

1. Artist’s Name

2. Artwork Title

● Labels must be securely attached or written on the back of the artwork for

identification.

● Unlabelled works may be excluded at the gallery’s discretion, and fees will not be

refunded.

COLLECTION OF WORKS

● Unsold artworks must be collected in person from the Fitzroy Public Gallery on:

o Sunday, October 12th, 2025 between 4 PM and 6 PM.

o Monday, October 13th, 2025, between 12PM and 7 PM.

There is limited space at the gallery and we have limited time to facilitate pickup so

please make sure you can collect during these times.

● Proxy Collection: If someone else is collecting on your behalf, email their name in

advance. The proxy must present ID.

● Packaging will not be retained by the gallery; artists must bring appropriate materials

for transport during collection.

● Unclaimed artworks will be considered abandoned and disposed of at the gallery’s

discretion.

ARTWORK SALES

● A 25% gallery commission applies to all artwork sales, inclusive of GST where

applicable.

● Artists will be informed whenever their work is sold.

● Upon a sale, artists will be asked to confirm the bank account details provided in their

entry form. It is the artist's responsibility to ensure these details are accurate.

● Artist settlements will be processed and finalized within 30 days after the exhibition

closes.

● Due to the high number of entries, online catalogues will not be available for this

showcase.

ARTWORK SALES INFORMATION

● Artists may choose to make their artworks available for sale or mark them as "Not

For Sale" during entry.

● Sale prices must be provided in the entry form at the time of submission.

● All pieces will be available for public viewing during the exhibition dates and by

appointment at the gallery's discretion.

● Due to the volume of submissions, artworks will not be displayed in an online

catalogue.

● Fitzroy Public Gallery retains a 25% commission on all sales.

ARTWORK DAMAGE AND INSURANCE

● While Fitzroy Public Gallery follows industry best practices to ensure the safety of

artworks, it assumes no responsibility for theft, loss, or damage.

● Artists concerned about the security of their works are encouraged to arrange their

own insurance coverage.

COMPLIANCE WITH TERMS AND CONDITIONS

● Failure to comply with any of the stated Terms and Conditions will result in

disqualification of the artist or exclusion of their artwork from the exhibition.

● Entry fees are non-refundable.

● The gallery reserves the right to disqualify entries or reject artworks found to be in

violation of these terms.

INFORMATION USAGE

● The details provided in your entry form ensure the accuracy of all information related

to your artwork.

● This information will be used exclusively by Fitzroy Public Gallery staff for the

purposes of the exhibition.

● Your bank details will only be utilized for processing payments in the event of an

artwork sale. No information will be shared with third parties.

AMENDING SUBMITTED INFORMATION

● Please ensure all information is accurate before submitting your entry form.

● If changes are necessary, contact us via email at FitzroyPublic@gmail.com.

FINDING IMPORTANT DATES

● Dates and details are emailed upon application.

● Additional reminders will be sent ahead of artwork drop-off and collection.

● Check your email spam/junk folder to ensure receipt of correspondence.

RESPONSIBILITY

· It is the artist’s responsibility to track dates. The gallery is not liable for missed deadlines or

dates.
